Their story — corroborated by testimonies gathered across five countries — remained largely unknown until a filmmaker stumbled upon a single handwritten letter in a Warsaw archive.

Kommando 1944 weaves together rare archival footage, survivor testimony recorded across six decades, and newly released government documents to tell a story of survival against impossible odds.
